James W. Burke, At a Glance
Mr. Burke retired from his career as a military analyst and is now working on his career as a writer. He published his first novel, “The Weekend Warriors,” which takes place in the 1980s during a time when the United States must mobilize National Guard and reservist troops to help ease tensions in the Soviet Union. The book is available for purchase on Bookstore.iuniverse.com, Barnes and Noble and Amazon. Mr. Burke attributes all the success he has experienced throughout his career to his military training.
Mr. Burke completed coursework at the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and earned a Master of Science in systems management at The University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Science at The United States Military Academy, and a Bachelor of Arts in history at Trinity University.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Burke enjoys reenacting the Civil War in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. He also enjoys researching military history, and serving as a mentor for the Wounded Warrior Program.
